A family, risen to power from nothing,
Friends and enemies stalk them in the night,
Wealth and power radiates off them,
Only a few stand in their way,
War and strife strive to catch them,
But they stay just out of reach,
For they are the Medics.
After a short stretch,
ReplyDeleteand a bit of effort too,
maybe you should put in a catch,
and make it feel as warm as a stew. :D
Just like the other poem, add a little something and it will be perfect. But it's still a good poem of course!
Having a good start is a wonderfull thing to have, it makes readers really hooked, and I think you pulled that off.
ReplyDeleteSince you use very descriptive words, the poem is short but powerful.
ReplyDeleteBecause you are so descriptive, your post excellently describes the medicis.
ReplyDeleteWhile the other poem was about artist in general, this poem has some specifics about the Medici and the Renaissance.
